Miami Slice Plants Its Flag in Coconut Grove

Miami Slice calls its Coconut Grove shop its fourth location and its most ambitious — and it chose a room with history to prove it. The Grove flagship opened August 12 in the historic Engle Building at 2996 McFarlane Road, next to the Mr. C Hotel, putting the city's best-known slice shop on the Grove's newest dining street.

The location is the bigger story. McFarlane Road spent the fall collecting the neighborhood's most talked-about arrivals — Miami Slice, Levain Bakery, and the Japanese restaurant Seiya among them — turning one historic stretch into the Grove's new dinner row. Miami Slice got there first, and the line followed.

Know before you go: Miami Slice, 2996 McFarlane Rd, Miami (Coconut Grove). Summer hours: Wednesday through Sunday, 5 to 11 PM.
