Anako Brings Filipino Cooking to Little River’s Best Eating Street

Miami does not see nearly enough Filipino restaurant openings, which is what makes Anako matter. The 38-seat Little River restaurant is the first sit-down venture from chefs Leicel Ros and Nancy Dominguez, the duo previously behind Sili at 1-800-Lucky — and it is the restaurant they have always wanted to open together.

The cooking draws on family recipes, with technique and inspiration from the chefs' travels around Southeast Asia. The room sits on NE 2nd Avenue in Little River, one of the city's strongest eating streets, alongside neighbors like No Seasons and the new Taquiza.

For a city whose dining scene keeps importing ideas from everywhere else, Anako is a reminder of what happens when two chefs cook the food they grew up with, in a room built for it.

Know before you go: Anako, 8222 NE 2nd Ave, Miami (Little River).
