Bar Shishi: Miami Beach’s Hidden Tokyo Listening Bar

Miami Beach has a new room you have to know how to find. Bar Shishi, a 12-seat Japanese-inspired cocktail bar from The h.wood Group — the team behind Delilah and The Nice Guy — opened September 19, 2026, on the third floor of RIVANI, the $125 million redevelopment near Lincoln Road. The entrance is marked by a guardian lion; inside, it is dark wood, marble, jewel tones, and a 12-seat bar framed by a sculptural arch.

The drinks are the show. Senior bar manager Kevin Lee, a certified Japanese Ice Master, builds the program around hand-carved diamond ice, kakigori-style shaved ice, Japanese cobbler shaking, and cocktail throwing. The signature is the Guava Kakigori — rum, guava, yuzu, and shiso over sculptural shaved ice — and the Hakushu 12 Old Fashioned arrives over one of Lee's ice diamonds. The food leans Japanese too: hamachi crudo, chicken karaage, and A5 wagyu katsu.

It is also a listening room in the Tokyo sense: a custom vinyl DJ booth, a vinyl-only soundtrack, and 108 private spirits lockers where regulars keep personal bottle reserves. The bar is open to the public Wednesday through Saturday from 7 PM to close; weekday afternoons it serves RIVANI members and their guests only.

Know before you go: Bar Shishi, RIVANI, 1691 Michigan Ave, 3rd floor, Miami Beach. Open to the public Wednesday through Saturday, 7 PM to close.
