Coral Gables has a new rooftop, and it sits steps from one of the neighborhood's best-known steakhouses. D's Rooftop opened October 29, 2026, on the penthouse level of the adjacent 1515 Sunset Building, just steps from Daniel's Miami, transforming the former La Terrazza into an open-air room built around three things: sunset views over the Gables, cocktails and small plates, and a weekly calendar that runs from cigars to college football.
The concept comes from Gioia Hospitality Group — the father-daughter team of Thomas and Kassidy Angelo, who also run Daniel's and the new La Sponda — and it is modeled on D's Sports Bar in Fort Lauderdale. The rooftop pairs panoramic views with around 10 televisions and a state-of-the-art sound system, plus a menu built for sharing: wagyu empanadas, chicken nuggets with caviar, a white negroni, and the Passion 75 are among the opening-night signatures.
The programming is the point. Steak and Cigar Thursdays, family barbecue nights, and Hurricanes watch parties — the opening weekend featured a Miami vs. North Carolina watch party on October 31 — make it less a bar with a view and more a standing reservation for the neighborhood's game days.
